Weekly paycheck calculator
A weekly paycheck calculator turns the hours you worked (or your salary schedule) into a gross pay figure for one week. PayGuess focuses on that week first: enter your rate, hours, overtime rule, and any other jobs, then see weekly gross before taxes.
How weekly pay is usually figured
For hourly work, weekly gross is regular hours × rate, plus overtime hours × the overtime rate. Many U.S. employers use time-and-a-half after 40 hours in a workweek. Some use double time, a different threshold, or no overtime at all — PayGuess lets you pick the rule that matches your job.
Salary paid weekly is often annual salary ÷ 52, or the paycheck amount your employer prints. If you are paid every two weeks or twice a month, a “weekly” view is an average, not the deposit you see on payday.
What to enter
- Hourly rate and total hours for the week (including overtime hours).
- Overtime after 40, double time, none, or a custom threshold and multiplier.
- Optional second (or more) jobs, each with its own rate and hours.
- For salary: annual amount or paycheck amount and how often you are paid.
Example
$23 an hour for 37 hours is $851 gross for the week. At $40 an hour for 53.5 hours with time-and-a-half after 40, weekly gross is $2,410.
Weekly vs take-home
The main PayGuess result is gross pay. Take-home depends on federal and state taxes, Social Security and Medicare, benefits, and other deductions. You can optionally enter a prior paycheck’s gross, taxes, and deductions to illustrate a similar take-home — still an estimate, not a payroll guarantee.

Frequently asked questions
Is a weekly paycheck calculator the same as take-home pay?
No. Weekly calculators usually show gross pay before taxes. Take-home subtracts withholding and deductions and can differ from week to week.
How many hours are in a weekly paycheck?
It depends on what you worked. Full-time is often around 40 hours; overtime hours are paid at a higher rate when your employer’s rule applies.
Does PayGuess store my pay numbers?
Calculations run in your browser. Optional saved weeks stay on your device unless you clear site data.
Can I include overtime on a weekly stub?
Yes. Choose time-and-a-half after 40, double time, none, or a custom overtime rule that matches your job.
Estimates only — not payroll, tax advice, or a guaranteed deposit. State and local rules vary; verify with your stub or employer.
