How to calculate income from two jobs
Work out each job’s gross earnings separately, then add them. Two jobs can have different rates, hours and overtime rules. Enter hours for the same week so the total represents a consistent period.
Example: two part-time jobs at different rates
No overtime in either job
Job
Rate and hours
Weekly gross
Job 1
$23 × 20 hours
$460
Job 2
$18 × 15 hours
$270
Combined
35 hours
$730
That is $1,460 over two identical weeks and an annual pace of $37,960 if the same week repeats 52 times. Actual future hours and deposits may differ.
How to add another job
Enter Job 1’s rate, hours and overtime selection.
Tap Add another job. Enter that job’s own rate and hours.
Review the combined weekly gross. Add more jobs only when needed, up to 10.
Extra jobs stay compact so you can focus on the total. The combined hours must fit within a 168-hour week; the calculator flags inconsistent entries rather than guessing.
Does 20 hours plus 25 hours mean five overtime hours?
The calculator treats entered jobs as separate payrolls. It does not automatically combine their hours to decide overtime eligibility. Whether hours must be combined depends on the employment relationship and applicable law. Joint employment can change the answer. Check your payroll arrangement before choosing each rule.
What if one job pays a salary?
The Salary tab converts an annual salary into weekly pay without asking for hours worked. Additional jobs can contribute their own entered earnings. The total is gross pay; pay dates at different employers may not line up.
Can I estimate a combined take-home paycheck?
Use the optional reference-paycheck projection for the specific employee job you are estimating. A withholding percentage from one employer should not be assumed to describe another employer or a freelancer’s taxes. The combined gross total remains useful even when take-home projections are incomplete.
Should I take another shift?
Use Shift changed? to select the job involved and compare added or dropped hours. A different employer’s shift can have another rate or a fixed payment. Travel, childcare and other costs may affect your decision and are not automatically deducted.
Save a week without filling missing weeks
Save only weeks you choose. A saved $0 week counts; returning three weeks later does not insert zero-income weeks. Device history stays in the browser where you save it. The average of saved weeks is different from the annualized pace of one week.
